When you place an offer on a public work order, you can track everything from your My Work Orders page in the HeyPros app. Each work order will appear under one of five statuses. Understanding what these mean helps you know where your offers stand and what to expect next.
Available
These are open public work orders you can still bid on.
If a work order is listed under Available, you have not placed an offer yet.
Jobs in this tab move quickly, so it is important to check back often.
Bidding
These are work orders where you have already submitted an offer, but the company has not made a decision yet.
You stay in this tab until one of the following happens:
your offer is accepted
the GC awards the job to another sub
the GC cancels or updates the work order
It is normal to remain in Bidding for a while. Some companies review offers right away, and others wait to collect multiple bids.
In Progress
Your offer was accepted and the job is now yours.
Work orders appear in this tab when:
the GC has officially awarded the job to you
you are expected to complete the work according to the dates and scope
you can now upload photos, communicate with the GC, and submit invoices
Always read the full description and double check instructions before starting the job.
Done
These are jobs you have fully completed and invoiced.
A work order moves to Done when:
you completed all required steps
you submitted your final invoice
the GC marked the job as finished on their end
This tab acts as your job history inside HeyPros.
Lost
These are work orders where:
the GC awarded the job to another subcontractor
the job was canceled before a decision was made
the job was removed or reposted with different details
Seeing a job in Lost does not mean your offer was bad.
Companies choose subs based on:
scheduling
availability
previous work history
location
internal preferences
Keep submitting offers. Subs who stay consistent typically start winning jobs as companies get familiar with them.
