What Happens When You Invite a Private Subcontractor to HeyPros

Written by Cody T

When you add a subcontractor to your account under My Contractors, you are inviting them as a private subcontractor. This is different from the public subcontractor network and is designed to make it easy for you to start sending work immediately.

Here is exactly what happens next.

1. The subcontractor receives a text message invite

Private subcontractors are invited by text message, not email.

The text lets them know that your company has added them to HeyPros to start sending them work and includes a secure link to access the platform.

No account setup is required on their end beyond following the link.

2. They create a password and log in

Using the link from the text message, the subcontractor:

  • Sets a password

  • Logs into HeyPros

  • Downloads the HeyPros mobile app if they want mobile access

There is no cost for private subcontractors to use HeyPros.

3. They receive a short intro video (English or Spanish)

To help them get oriented quickly, the subcontractor also receives a text link to a short introduction video.

They can choose to watch the video in English or Spanish, which walks through how to use HeyPros from a subcontractor’s perspective.

4. Their access is limited to your company only

Private subcontractors only have access to your company’s workspace.

They cannot see other companies, public job listings, or other contractors on HeyPros. Everything they see is tied directly to the work you send them.

5. What private subcontractors can do in HeyPros

Once invited, private subcontractors can:

  • View work orders you send them

  • Place bids on those work orders

  • Communicate with you directly inside each job

This keeps all job details, pricing discussions, and communication in one place.

6. No separate account management required by the subcontractor

You control the relationship.

The subcontractor does not need to create or manage their own HeyPros account independently. They simply accept your invite, set a password, and start receiving work.
