Homeowner Lead FAQs

This article answers common questions about how homeowner leads work in HeyPros, what to expect after you claim one, and when a lead issue may qualify for review.

What are homeowner leads?

Homeowner leads are quote requests submitted by homeowners looking to hire a contractor.

If you have a Public Contractor subscription, you can preview and claim homeowner leads inside the HeyPros app when leads are available in your trade and area.

Where do HeyPros homeowner leads come from?

HeyPros does not buy leads from third-party lead sellers.

Our team generates homeowner leads through HeyPros marketing campaigns. When a homeowner fills out a quote request form, they are told that a local contractor may call or text them about their project.

Are homeowner leads guaranteed jobs?

No.

Homeowner leads are real opportunities, but they are not guaranteed jobs or guaranteed appointments.

When you claim a lead, you are paying for the opportunity to contact a homeowner who requested a quote. Some homeowners respond quickly. Some take longer. Some may already be speaking with other contractors. Some may decide not to move forward at all.

That is a normal part of lead generation.

How do I claim a lead?

You can preview the lead first, then decide whether to claim it.

Once you claim a lead, one lead credit is used and the homeowner’s contact information is unlocked so you can contact them directly.

Do I have to claim a lead right away?

No, but speed matters.

The contractors who usually get the best results are the ones who contact homeowners quickly after the lead is posted and claimed.

What should I do after I claim a lead?

For best results:

  • Contact the homeowner as soon as possible

  • Call or text more than once

  • If they do not respond right away, try again the next day

  • Be ready to discuss the project clearly and quickly

Homeowners often make decisions fast, so quick follow-up usually gives you the best chance of winning the job.

How many times should I try contacting a homeowner?

We recommend reaching out 5 to 7 times.

Many homeowners do not answer on the first attempt, especially if they are busy, working, or do not recognize the number.

If a homeowner does not answer, does that mean the lead was bad?

Not necessarily.

A homeowner not answering right away is a normal lead outcome and does not automatically mean the lead was invalid.

Some homeowners:

  • call back later

  • text instead of answering

  • are still comparing contractors

  • already got busy with something else

  • are not ready the same day they requested a quote

Why might I not win a job from a lead?

There are a lot of reasons you may not win a lead, including:

  • the homeowner hired someone else

  • the homeowner is still shopping

  • the homeowner changed their mind

  • the homeowner was not ready yet

  • your pricing or timing was not the right fit

  • the homeowner never responded

Not winning the job does not automatically mean there was something wrong with the lead.

Can I see the homeowner’s contact information before claiming?

No.

You can preview the lead details first, but the homeowner’s contact information is only revealed once you claim the lead with a credit.

Do lead credits expire?

No.

Your lead credits do not expire. If you do not use them right away, they stay on your account until you are ready to use them.

What if I run out of lead credits?

If you use all of your included lead credits, you can purchase additional credits inside the app as needed.

What kinds of lead issues may qualify for review?

A lead may qualify for review if there is a clear issue, such as:

  • wrong or disconnected contact information

  • clearly wrong job type

  • clearly outside your selected service area due to an error

  • suspected spam post

  • another obvious post or platform error

What does the HeyPros Lead Credit Guarantee cover?

We’ll return your lead credit when:

  • The phone number is wrong or disconnected

  • The homeowner says they didn’t request the project

  • The lead is a duplicate

  • The job type or location is incorrect

  • The lead is fake, spam, or affected by a platform error

  • The homeowner can’t be reached after multiple calls, texts, and follow-ups over several days

How do I request a lead credit refund?

Open the claimed lead in HeyPros and select Report an Issue. Choose the reason that best describes the issue, answer the follow-up questions, and submit the request.

You must have an active paid subscription to submit a request and receive a returned lead credit. If the request is approved, the credit used to claim that lead will be added back to your HeyPros account.

See How to Submit a Lead Credit Refund Request for the complete steps.

What doesn’t the guarantee cover?

Homeowner leads are opportunities, not guaranteed jobs. The guarantee doesn’t cover:

  • The homeowner choosing another contractor

  • A pricing or scheduling disagreement

  • The homeowner deciding not to move forward

  • A project being smaller than you wanted

  • You not winning the job

Returned credits are HeyPros lead credits and aren’t cash refunds.

What is the best way to get value from homeowner leads?

The contractors who usually get the most value from HeyPros homeowner leads do a few simple things well:

  • stay active in the app

  • focus on leads that match their trade and area

  • reach out fast

  • follow up more than once

  • stay realistic about the fact that not every lead will turn into a job

Final note

HeyPros homeowner leads are designed to give you real opportunities you can preview and choose for yourself.

The goal is to help you connect with homeowners looking for work in your trade and area. Some leads will turn into jobs. Some will not. The contractors who stay active, move quickly, and follow up consistently usually get the most value.
