What is the only way to move a work order to a different subcontractor?
In HeyPros, the only way to move a work order to a different subcontractor is to:
click Duplicate on the existing work order
create a new copy
dispatch the new copy to the new subcontractor
cancel and close out the original work order
Why does HeyPros work this way?
In HeyPros, a work order represents a contract between you and a specific subcontractor.
Because of that, the subcontractor on an awarded work order cannot simply be swapped out. If a different subcontractor is going to take the job, a new work order needs to be created for that new contractor relationship.
Why do I need to duplicate the work order?
Duplicating the work order gives you the fastest way to create that new work order without having to manually rebuild all of the job details from scratch.
It also keeps a clean record of:
the original work order
the original subcontractor assignment
the new work order created for the new subcontractor
What should I do with the old work order?
Once the duplicated work order has been dispatched to the new subcontractor, the original work order should be canceled and closed out if it is no longer being used.
Can I just edit the subcontractor field on the original work order?
No.
That is not how HeyPros is built.
If you need a different subcontractor on the job, duplicating, re-dispatching, and closing out the original work order is the only way to do it.
