Question: Can I find new subcontractors through HeyPros?

Answer: No, HeyPros is not a marketplace for finding subcontractors. The only subcontractors you will have access to in HeyPros are the ones invited by your company. HeyPros recommends meeting subcontractors through referrals from other businesses/friends, at stores such as Sherwin-Williams, at industry conventions, via social media, or through job search sites such as Indeed.

Question: Does HeyPros work for businesses that employ traditional (W2) employees?

Answer: HeyPros is the best fit for businesses who utilize W9 subcontractors, as we have a robust bidding system, compliance tracking functionality, and an extremely simple to use interface for subcontractors. If you have questions about whether HeyPros could work for your business, we recommend that you reach out to discuss with a member of our team.

Question: Is HeyPros customer-facing?

Answer: No, HeyPros is built for your team to receive bids from subcontractors, dispatch jobs to subcontractors, communicate with them regarding those jobs, and generate invoices for your subcontractors. It is not intended to replace your customer-facing estimation, marketing, or communication software.

Question: Can I pay my subcontractors through HeyPros?

Answer: Yes, it's possible to pay your subcontractors through HeyPros simply by adding a Stripe integration to your package with us.

Question: When I use the live chat tool on the HeyPros website or in the HeyPros app, who does it contact?

Answer: The HeyPros live chat tool connects you with a member of the HeyPros team, not the company that has contracted you for a job or the contractor you've hired for a job. If you have questions about the app, our team is more than happy to answer those for you. If you have questions about a specific work order, compliance documents requested from you (such as W9s and certificates of insurance), or any job details- you'll need to call or message directly the company that has contracted you or the subcontractor you've hired to discuss further.

Question: Do I need to pay to use HeyPros?

Answer: At this time HeyPros is free for subcontractors to use, only the companies contracting out jobs pay to use HeyPros.

Question: Do I need to download the HeyPros app to use HeyPros?

Answer: No, you do not. If you choose not to download the app, you can access HeyPros through either your web browser or if you're a subcontractor, via links sent to your phone when there are updates in HeyPros. However, we strongly recommend downloading the app for the best experience.

Question: What does a subcontractor rating in HeyPros mean?

Answer: After each work order a subcontractor completes, the company that has contracted them for a job can rate their performance on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. They will rate the subcontractor on job quality, timing, and communication. They also have the ability to write a comment or feedback as part of the subcontractor's review. These reviews are only visible to the subcontractor being reviewed and the company that has contracted them for a job.

Question: Can I find other companies to subcontract for through HeyPros?

Answer: No, HeyPros is not a marketplace to find additional companies to sub for. You can only see and work on jobs for companies that use HeyPros and have invited you to join their HeyPros account.

Question: Can I subcontract for multiple companies that use HeyPros?

Answer: Yes, as long as each company has sent you an individual invite, you can work for as many different companies that use HeyPros as you would like.

Question: Can HeyPros recommend me as a subcontractor to other companies that are looking for subcontractors?

Answer: No, you can only see and work on jobs for companies that use HeyPros and have invited you to join their HeyPros account. We do not provide a list of subcontractors to our users or recommend subcontractors to new businesses.

Question: Who do I talk to about my compliance documents (W9, certificate of insurance, etc.)?

Answer: Any questions about compliance document requirements, such as W9, certificates of insurance (COI), and job site rules should be directed to the company who has contracted you for the job or to the subcontractor you've hired for a job. HeyPros can only provide you guidance in how these should be physically uploaded in the app. We recommend that you call or message the company that has contracted you, or the subcontractor you've hired for clarification.

Question: Can I call someone at HeyPros to ask them questions about work orders, job details, or compliance documents?

Answer: HeyPros can only answer technical questions about our app. If you have questions about work orders, job details, or compliance documents we recommend that you call or message the company that has contracted, or the subcontractor you've hired for further clarification.

Question: How can I delete a contractor or staff user?

Answer: Only the primary admin of the account (typically the owner of the business or first person invite to HeyPros by our team) has the ability to delete users. They can do so by going to users, clicking the three dots next to a user's name and clicking "delete".

Question: What is the difference between firm on price and instant booking?

Answer: Price-wise they're the same. Instant book gives the job to the first sub to jump on the work order. Firm on price lets you pick from the subs who have indicated they are willing to take the job for your price. If you don't care who does the work and just want it grabbed quickly for your price, use instant book.

Question: What is the differnce between done and closed statuses?

Answer: "Done" is the status that your work order will automatically move to if you've approved an invoice from a sub. "Closed" is a manual status that can be triggered on "Done" work orders by clicking the three dots next to the work order (only after it's "done') and then closing. It's useful because a "done" job could still have touch-ups or punchlist items that come up after you and the sub have considered the project done. Closed is final and means there's no chance of us touching this job again.
